In addition to the sustainability of energy supply, the avoidance of carbon dioxide (CO2) is a focal point in the field of renewable energies.
With the CO2 balance can be quite vividly estimate the added value.
In the Power Maglev project, consideration is to be broken down under the aspect of "intermediate storage of energy" and the aspect "secondary use of the infinite air gap".
Caching of energy
The aspect "intermediate storage of energy" is the primary and more extensive subarea. There is no direct positive CO2 balance. Only in connection with the actual "energy producers" (mainly photovoltaic systems and wind turbines) can a positive CO2 balance be identified.
This situation is comparable to battery-based energy storage or pumped storage power plants. It must be demanded here a general rethinking.
Secondary use of the infinite air gap
The secondary use of the magnetic field has a positive CO2 balance.
In contrast to conventional concepts, the concept only needs the energy to control the distance. The amount of energy required to accelerate can be recovered more or less completely when decelerating.
